Awaiting Adoption
Looking for interested persons who would like to adopt a shut-in from Epworth for a 3 month interval. You would be responsible for letting them know we care by sending cards, visiting, or taking them a special treat or gift. If interested, see or Call Debbie P.
NEEDED:
Clean, used shoes of all sizes are needed to the Urban Mission in Steubenville. These are being collected by the Youth. There is a collection box in the front room of the Youth Hall.
Bibles:
Most of us have Bibles around that we are not using. We are collecting Bibles and New Testaments to take to the Annual Conference. These Bibles will then be distributed to prisons and other institutions where they are needed. Bring your un-used Bibles to the Pastor's office and we will get them to Conference. They will be collected until June 15.
Seat Covers
We will again be collecting "Seat Covers for All God's Children" Canton District will be collecting SEAT COVERS for infants, boys and girls: Diapers, Undershirts, Socks. These items will be collected in a receptacle in the office from now until Sept. 16, 2000 (The Festival of Caring)
Food Box
located outside of the church office, non-perishable food and household items are collected and given to the Western Stark County Hunger Task Force
Hunger Voucher Collection
this offering is take the 3rd week of each month-it is given to the food cupboard for vouchers and perishable items for families that receive help there
Campbell's Labels
save the labels from Campbell's products-they are sent to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky for the "purchase" of school supplies, equipment, and even vans
Least Coin Offering
this is an offering of your least coin(s) taken the first Sunday of each month, sponsored by Church Women United, it goes to missions worldwide

The Deadline for Youth that are planning on attending the Youth Annual Conference &Cedar Point is the first week of May. Change in agenda--we will not be camping and will leave EARLY Friday, June 16.

Summer Fellowship time:
We need help for summer fellowship time. Click here for printable form to turn in to the church and details .
Pancake Breakfast
June 3, Saturday, 8:00-10:00am. All you can eat pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, sponsored by the friendship class.
Palm Sunday
During the worship service our Confirmands will be received into church membership. They will be honored following the service with a reception in the fellowship hall.
Maundy Thursday Service
Maundy Thursday Service will be help at Epworth on Thursday, April 20 at 7:30pm. There will be communion.
Good Friday
The community will again gather at St. Mary's at noon to remember the Crucifixion of our Lord.
Easter Sunday
The Youth will provide us with the Sunrise Service and Breakfast. They have worked hard and deserve our support. We will have your regular worship service at 9:30am.
We're looking for Graduates!
Graduation is just around the corner. If you have a family member graduating from high school or college this spring, please call the church office with their name and school. We will recognize our graduates at the end of May. We don't want to miss anyone! Thank You!
Mark your calendar for June 3!
We have a "FREE" table reserved at Amherst Center for June 3. We need crafts and baked goods. If many can donate just a few items we can have a successful day. All proceeds will go to the Building Expansion fund.
Cookies!
Canton District's Hospitality day at General Conference is May 4th. Each church in the district is asked to donate 50 dozen cookies. They are requesting the cookies be kept simple. If you can donate cookies, please see Alyce. They should be brought to the church by April 30 so they can be packaged.
Your Help is Needed
Keeping our facilities clean and attractive is important to all of us. Without a custodian it is especially important for each of us to do our part in cleaning up after we have used the church. Could you help? We will post a sign-up sheet along with the jobs that need to be done. Please take this request seriously and lend a hand. If you know anyone interested in the custodian job, please let us know!
Gathering of Gifts (Spring Conference)
The Administrative Board elected to support the North Industry Church with their local outreach, Items are to be brought to Spring District Conference on April 10. Items needed are: scissors, record players, markers, crayons, construction paper, school glue, Campbell's soup labels, PC computer supplies. We will take our gifts with us to the Spring District meeting. Again, your contributions can be left in the office before April 10.
Festival of Caring
Seat covers for the Children & Poverty, The Bishops Initiative. Canton District to Contribute: New Diapers (disposable), New T-shirts (onesees) and New socks for infants thru age 1. This project will run through the summer. Items can be left in the office.
East Ohio Annual Conference
At this year's conference, the Board of Laity will be collecting Bibles. New Testaments or Bibles (new or good used ones) will be collected at the opening Prayer and Praise Service. There will also be a collection site during the week of conference. The Bibles will be given to youth centers, mission &prison ministries in the East Ohio Conference. If you'd like to donate a Bible please leave them in the office by June 15.

SPRING DISTRICT CONFERENCE MEETING
We are entitled to 8 representative votes at this meeting. District delegates will be voted on for next year. Worship will be led by Bishop Keaton. We will take our gifts for the North Industry Day Care.
Bible Studies
Two groups meet weekly Wed. morning at 9:00am and Thurs. evenings at 7:30pm. Both groups will begin new studies in January. You are welcome to join either one.
Child Care
We need to think about child care. We need 2 people each time to care for children up to age 3 during Worship and Sunday School. We need 8 adults and 8 youth. No one would have to miss Worship or Sunday School often, you would only need to work about once every 2 months. There will be a sign-up sheet in the church.
Helpers are needed!!
Please check the book in the Sanctuary and sign-up for invocation, greeters, sanctuary lamp, & flowers. Thank You for your help in these small things that make worship smoother and more pleasant!

Both building expansion committees are meeting on February 3, 2000 at 6:30pm.
Auction
We are planning to have an auction on May 6, 2000 to raise money for the Building Expansion fund. Volunteers are being taken to run the auction, see a committee member to volunteer. If you have items to donate to the auction, call the church to make arrangements or contact a committee member. If you have connections with any businesses, please ask them if they would like to donate. We have already received donations from some businesses. All businesses that donate will be acknowledged in our flyers, etc.
"Penny Contest"
Don't forget to bring your money for our "Mile of Pennies" contest. The East and West sides of the church both have a long way to go to meet our goal. Keep bringing your pennies!
