Happenings
Festival of Caring
Sept. 16, 2000 - we will again be collecting "Seat Covers for All God's Children" Canton District will be collecting SEAT COVERS for infants, boys and girls: Diapers, Undershirts, Socks
Gathering of Gifts
The members of COM decided to support the "gathering of gifts" and supply some of the needs of North Industry UMC, Canton South Child Care Program. Needed items: scissors, record players, markers, crayons, construction paper, school glue, Campbell Soup Labels, PC Computer Supplies. We will collect items here at the church and take them with us when we leave to go to Spring Conference on April 10.
Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers are always needed to help at the homes under construction. Call the office to find our the details.
Make-A-Way
The center is open to adults affected by mental illness, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, and loneliness. It offers a safe place to go at no charge. Contributions, which are tax deductible, are needed to keep the programs available to the 873 active members. A portion of their funding comes from the Mental Health Board, but the balance must be met with contributions, can you help? Call the church or Make-A-Way Center for details. Feb 13- Annual Pizza Bake-Off, Youth pizza chefs will put forth their best efforts forth for the coveted "Best All-Around Pizza" award. We will have pizza judging at 5:30, followed by dinner and games!
Feb 25-27 - Annual Camp Aldersgate retreat. Youth are reminded to turn in money and form by FEB 13. Our theme is "Worship and Celebrate" The weekend will include planning two special youth services, a service project, and fun!
Thank you to our hosts for our January dinner and game night! We had a great time!

Children's News
Feb 10 - Kids' Dinner at 5:30pm (Pasta and sauce, salad, garlic bread, applesauce) followed by Joyful Noise at 6:00pm then Friendship club at 6:30pm "Esther" Mission Project: bring 10 Valentine cards with your name signed on the back (the kind you take to school)
March 11-12 - Kid's Camp-In - Activities for ages three and under will be from 6:30-8:30pm on Saturday (Mar. 11) and for kindergarteners through 6th graders from 6:30pm Saturday thru Sunday at 9am Children will receive a flyer and registration form in the middle of February, we will be needing adult and youth helpers for the evening, see Marie if you are interested.

Helpers are needed!!
Please check the book in the Sanctuary and sign-up for invocation, greeters, sanctuary lamp, & flowers. Thank You for your help in these small things that make worship smoother and more pleasant!
Bible Studies
Two groups meet weekly Wed. morning at 9:00am and Thurs. evenings at 7:30pm. Both groups will begin new studies in January. You are welcome to join either one.
Range Hood
If you haven't heard... we need a new range hood for over our stove in the basement. Somebody has offered to pay half if we first raised half. We finally did it!!!! A BIG THANK YOU!! to everyone that helped us meet this goal.
Spaghetti Dinner
Our spaghetti dinner will be Feb 26 at 4:30 to 6:30, there will be spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, bread, coffee/tea/punch and dessert. Tickets are available from the Friendship Class or they can be purchased from the office. Carry-out is available!!
Pancake Breakfast
Sat, Feb 5 from 8 to 10am, there will be pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and good fellowship. One pancake and one sausage $1.50 or All-You-Can-Eat pancakes and 2 sausages for $3.00
Bingo
The ladies of the church will go to Shady Lawn on Feb. 17, to play bingo with the residents there. We will leave from the church at 6:15
Pizza Bake-Off and Church Family Night
Sunday Feb 13 at 5:30-7:30pm. Dinner and fun for the whole Church family! Help choose the winning pizzas and then enjoy them for dinner! Cost - $3.00 per person. Sponsored by the Youth.

Building Expansion
Both building expansion committees are meeting on February 3, 2000 at 6:30pm.
Auction
We are planning to have an auction on May 6, 2000 to raise money for the Building Expansion fund. Volunteers are being taken to run the auction, see a committee member to volunteer. If you have items to donate to the auction, call the church to make arrangements or contact a committee member. If you have connections with any businesses, please ask them if they would like to donate. We have already received donations from some businesses. All businesses that donate will be acknowledged in our flyers, etc.
"Penny Contest"
Don't forget to bring your money for our "Mile of Pennies" contest. The East and West sides of the church both have a long way to go to meet our goal. Keep bringing your pennies!
